Roaring Twenties
Now that I'm 21 I feel I look at the world a different way... good and bad, mostly good. My face book feed is full of engagement photos, and ultrasound photos. Everyone is starting their family whether they planned for it or not. They are all starting new chapters in their life. Like them, I too am starting a new part of my life.. Although it doesn't include a baby, a ring, or the task of being a parent at the age 21. It does include tequila, lots of girls nights, and going on awesome vacations kid free with friends! I understand people want to start their families young and I get that, I just know I could never be ready for kids right now. There's so many things I want to do and accomplish before I become a parent. I respect the ones who are ready though and good for them. Theres too much I want to do and see, and it just wouldn't be the same if I had kids. I want to finish college, marry the love of my life, travel with him, and then when were ready buy the perfect home, and have a baby. So if you look at your Facebook feed and see all the pictures, and people starting their families and think "what am I doing with my life", just know the answer is a lot. You're living your early 20's baby free and enjoying the little things with your friends. I don't mean that in a bad way but let's be honest you are doing a lot more than their able to do. Yes they are happy with their babies and family but you're happy with freedom, sleeping in, and well doing whatever you want. You're in your 20's, you are suppose to make mistakes, learn and try new things, and find out that flavored vodka is never the way to go. You may think blueberry, watermelon, and cherry vodka is your fav.. Let me stop you right there and assure you it shouldn't be. You can be a parent any time but you can only be in your 20's once. Instead of thinking you need to start popping out babies to catch up, how about finishing school, getting a degree to support those babies, and just enjoy being able to do whatever whenever. I hope that when I do have kids I am fully ready to provided for them. So enjoy your 20's and live your life to the fullest!
